ENWired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) 
1. A cryptographic protocol offering stream cipher encryption with a key length of 128 bits; it is defined within the IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN specifications.

2. A security protocol for wireless local area networks (WLANs) defined in the IEEE 802.11b standard. WEP was intended to provide the same level of security as that of a wired LAN.
